The Hours Tower Mural Project – Beastman & Jae Copp

The 4217 began a colourful transformation last month with two of Australia’s most distinctive artists setting to work on a huge three storey mural on the building.

Gold Coast local artist Jae Copp and Sydney’s Beastman created the first of a series of huge murals on the lift-shaft on our building facing Beach Road.

The mural is a true collaboration between the two artists, featuring the colours, patterns, characters and styles these artists are known for around the world.

The Hours Tower Mural Project is curated by the guys at The Hours, a well-known art collective. The ongoing mural project aims to bring well-known artists from all over Australia to Surfers Paradise to collaborate together using The 4217 lift-shaft as their canvas, providing Surfers Paradise with a truly unique large scale and evolving piece of public art.

The local guys from Digital Cinematix were there to film it all and here is what they captured.

From everyone at The 4217 we want to say a BIG thank you to the team at The Hours, the local council, Digital Cinematix, Ears, Brendan Long & Mandy Henderson and a MASSIVE thank you to the artists Beastman & Jae Copp for making our building look amazing.

The 4217 will continue to integrate the work of contemporary Australian artists and their artwork inside and out and we are committed to offering opportunities for the local creative community to be involved.

The interior renovation of the building has already begun, so watch this space for updates in the coming days and weeks.
